Next Collection

Yay! My next collection is pretty much done. Given the process of it all it will be at least a month for them to be online. Too bad. I want to see photos right now!

I have lots and lots of really special rings this time. It's been a wild ride doing them...almost scary. I don't know if other jewelry designers feel this way but I don't have complete control over how they end up. I pick up a stone or wax and have a vague idea what I will do with it and it just happens on auto mode from there until it's done. I've been working feverishly in the studio and 9 hours can go by in a blink. I just about have no time to spare for eating because my studio time is so precious.
Before I know it I have to come back to the real world. I do have lots to show for my time spent in the studio. I am very pleased with the different new ideas in this collection...very satisfying and meaty for sure.

I want to post this Rutilated Quartz Long Ring because I miss it. It sold too soon. This is a piece of rare cut and look. It has a curve on one side and a cylindrical cut on the other side not to mention the taper at 2 ends. It is quartz embedded with golden 'straws'. It is a stone, but maybe because of it's strange and unique cut, felt like a piece of Lucite to me. It was surreal to hold because the knowledge of what it was didn't match the feel of it. I didn't know what I would do with it when I bought it and because it wasn't a bead I had to think of a different construction for it. This seemly simple treatment was not easy to achieve due to it's slipperiness. This was again one of those things that started with a vague idea and just went off on it's own till it was done. I miss it and wish I can see it again so here it is...for my sake.
